About The Olde Orange Cat

Creating and selling my own crafts has long been a dream and passion of mine. I am a lifelong craft maker, cross-stitcher, artist, and more recently a writer and horse~woman. After several unsuccessful attempts at starting a home-based business (home-based out of want, not necessity) I finally bit the bullet, so to speak, and launched my own craft business!
This business has undergone many changes, from being a flat-out "country" style craft to just being equine crafts, and finally the creations you see here. Things happen for reasons, I believe, and our instincts will never lead us wrong. My instincts told me to head down the path of my greatest passions, which is needlework and primitives.
I am proud to bring you the very best of my designs. I know the longing many of us have for the simpler things in life, particularly in these modern and oftentimes chaotic times we live in. The things that last are sometimes the simplest. It is my pleasure to share my passion for the simple things with you!

Why "Olde Orange Cat"?
Why not! Seriously, though, I wanted a name for this business that reflected the mood and theme of what I design. We create primitives, and we wanted to set a mood of simplicity and give ourselves a "Colonial" feel. Plus, orange cats are adorable! We don't have any orange cats as of yet, but Melly and Summer are more than enough to keep us happy and entertained!

Who is the Browne Mare?
The Browne Mare herself ~~~ Baylee Jane!
Baylee is the fulfillment of another life~long dream, to own a thoroughbred racehorse. She is currently in training to race. Not only is she a superb looking horse, she is a sweet addition to our family, begging for apples and attention.
We are very proud of her!
